4. İlk Kurulum

5. Kullanım Talimatları

5.1 Basic OTDR Measurement

5.2 Using the Visual Fault Locator (VFL)

The QX45 model includes a built-in VFL for quick visual inspection of fiber integrity.

Regular cleaning of the optical ports is crucial for accurate measurements and to prevent damage to the device and fiber connectors.

  • Always use a launch cable (also known as a pulse suppressor box or fiber ring) when testing short fiber runs or the first connector of a fiber link. This helps to absorb the OTDR's dead zone and allows for accurate measurement of the first connector.
  • Ensure all fiber end-faces are meticulously clean before connecting them to the OTDR or other fiber components. Contamination is a leading cause of inaccurate measurements and potential damage.
  • Familiarize yourself with the different pulse width settings. Shorter pulse widths offer better resolution for identifying closely spaced events, while longer pulse widths provide a greater dynamic range for testing longer fiber links.
  • Utilize the included Curve Analyze Software on your PC to perform in-depth analysis of saved traces, generate reports, and manage your measurement data efficiently.
