Refer to the screw length chart provided in your owner's manual or on the jig base. Typically, the screw length is determined by the thickness of the material you are joining (e.g., use 1-1/4" screws for 3/4" thick material).
Use the material thickness gauge included with your jig to measure your board. Then, align the window of the stop collar with the corresponding measurement mark on the drill bit and tighten it securely with the hex wrench.
It is highly recommended to use Kreg Pocket-Hole Screws. They are self-tapping and specifically designed with a flat head to sit flush in the pocket hole without splitting the wood, ensuring a strong joint.
