5.1 Assembling the Clarinet

  1. Apply Cork Grease: Lightly apply cork grease to all cork joints (barrel, upper joint, lower joint, bell) to facilitate smooth assembly and prevent damage.
  2. Attach the Bell: Gently twist the bell onto the lower joint. Align the bell ring with the lower joint.
  3. Connect Upper and Lower Joints: Hold the upper joint by its barrel end and the lower joint by its bell end. Carefully align the bridge keys (small levers that connect the two joints) and twist the upper joint onto the lower joint. Ensure the bridge keys do not bend.
  4. Attach the Barrel: Twist the barrel onto the upper joint.
  5. Attach the Mouthpiece: Twist the mouthpiece onto the barrel.

5.2 Attaching the Reed

  1. Moisten the reed by placing the thin end in your mouth for a minute or two.
  2. Place the flat side of the reed against the flat surface of the mouthpiece, ensuring the tip of the reed is aligned with the tip of the mouthpiece.
  3. Slide the ligature over the reed and mouthpiece, positioning it so the screws are on the underside. Tighten the screws just enough to hold the reed firmly in place without overtightening.

5.3 Adjusting the Thumb Rest

Stagg WS-CL210S US features an adjustable thumb rest. Loosen the screw on the thumb rest, position it for comfortable support of your right thumb, and then gently tighten the screw to secure it.

6. Kullanım Talimatları

6.1 Holding the Clarinet

  • Your left hand should be positioned above your right hand.
  • The left thumb rests on the thumb key on the back of the upper joint.
  • The right thumb rests under the adjustable thumb rest, supporting the instrument.
  • Fingers should be curved and relaxed, ready to cover the tone holes and press the keys.

6.2 Embouchure Basics

Forming a proper embouchure is crucial for producing a clear sound:

  • Place the mouthpiece into your mouth with your upper teeth resting on top of the mouthpiece (you may use a mouthpiece patch for comfort).
  • Your lower lip should be slightly rolled over your lower teeth, forming a cushion for the reed.
  • Seal your lips around the mouthpiece to prevent air leakage.
  • Maintain firm but relaxed corners of your mouth.

6.3 Ses Üretimi

With the clarinet assembled and reed attached, take a deep breath and blow a steady stream of air through the mouthpiece while maintaining your embouchure. Experiment with air pressure and embouchure tension to produce a clear, consistent tone.

6.4 Tuş İşlemi

Stagg WS-CL210S US features 17 keys and 6 rings. Pressing the keys and covering the tone holes changes the effective length of the air column, thereby changing the pitch. Refer to a clarinet fingering chart for specific notes.

7. Bakım

Regular maintenance is essential for the longevity and performance of your clarinet.

7.1 Her Kullanımdan Sonra

  • Swab the Bore: Disassemble the clarinet and use a cleaning swab to remove moisture from the inside of each joint. Pass the swab through the bell, lower joint, upper joint, and barrel.
  • Clean the Mouthpiece: Remove the reed and ligature. Rinse the mouthpiece with lukewarm water and use a mouthpiece brush to clean the inside. Dry thoroughly.
  • Wipe Keys and Body: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe down the keys and body of the clarinet, removing fingerprints and moisture.
  • Store the Reed: Remove the reed from the mouthpiece, wipe it clean, and store it in a reed case to prevent warping.

7.2 Periyodik Bakım

  • Cork Grease: Reapply cork grease to the joints as needed to ensure smooth assembly.
  • Key Oiling: Periodically, a small amount of key oil can be applied to the pivot points of the keys. This should be done sparingly and carefully, or by a qualified technician.
  • Ped Bakımı: If pads become sticky, use a piece of cigarette paper or a specialized pad cleaning paper inserted under the pad and gently pressed to absorb moisture.

7.3 Depolama

Always store your clarinet in its provided ABS case when not in use. This protects it from dust, damage, and environmental fluctuations.

8. Sorun Giderme
